Federal government decides to give stipend to mothers for 2 years after giving birth to a child


Islamabad (August 12, 2020): The federal government has decided to give a stipend to mothers for two years from the birth of a child. Under the "Ehsas Nishowanma" program, a mother will get Rs 2,000 for the birth of a girl and Rs 1,500 for the birth of a boy. According to details, Dr Sania Nishtar, chairperson of Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Social Security and Ehsas Program, said that Ehsas Development Program has been launched in 33 centres in 9 districts of the country.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Sania Nishtar said that a new program of Ehsas program is being launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tomorrow in which the Prime Minister will also participate. This program is about malnutrition. The Special Assistant said that under the Ehsas Development Program, 2 children would be supported in a family and mothers would get Rs. 1500 per quarter for a boy and Rs. 2000 per quarter for a girl born.

He said that women would benefit from this program for 15 months after the birth of a child. A memorandum has been signed with all the provincial governments while an Ehsas e Taleem would be introduced after the realization of development. The Special Assistant said that there are many programs on Ehsas. Many programs have been launched in the last one year. Sania Nishtar said that now that the Ehasas e Nashonama is beginning, the Ehsas e Taleem will also begin soon.

This program is designed after one year of consultation with experts. Pregnant women will be given specialized nutrition in this program. He said that it is being launched in 9 districts of the country. 8 centers are functional and the remaining 33 will be completed in the current month. The Special Assistant said that this program is only for the registered families of the Cash Sponsorship Program. Sania Nishtar said that two types of products will be provided, one for mother and one for child. The food will be provided to mothers for 15 months and children for 2 years.
