 According to the news agency, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said in a statement that the UN Security Council has rejected the US resolution regarding the expansion of Iran's arms embargo. Only two of the 15 members of the UN Security Council voted in favour of the resolution. According to further details, the Security Council voted on the draft resolution on arms embargo on Iran. The referendum comes as Russia and China oppose a resolution banning arms to Iran.


According to foreign media reports, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo explained the message of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which called on the UN Security Council to extend the arms embargo on Iran. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said that Iran is the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world. The supply of arms to Iran by the Chinese Communist Party threatens the region.

Kelly Kraft, the US ambassador to the United Nations, said Russia and China wanted to benefit from lifting the arms embargo on Iran. He said the two countries were waiting for an opportunity to sell arms to Tehran. Mike Pompeo has said it with conviction, That China's entry into Iran would destabilize the Middle East. He added that President Donald Trump's administration would work at all levels to ensure an extension of the arms embargo on Iran. He also stressed that he is confident of the success of the efforts made in this regard.
